I'm doing one next Friday evening and the owner says the truck has a plain black rubber head key.

I thought the Rams had sentry key by then? I think it is a 1500, but I could be wrong.

sentry key was an option in 04, not standard

Black headed keys have no transponder to bypass. The gray headed key and sentry integrated key with transmitter have transponders.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya
