Have a 1997 GMC Jimmy with the factory Keyless Entry/Alarm. A Clifford alarm (Which worked fine)was in there previously and now removed. I am looking for the wiring to the valet switch and LED to the factory alarm. Does anyone know where these wires are located (Which harness)? What should I look for?
Thanks in advance

You are looking for information to wire the LED to a factory alarm? Maybe expanding on this question a little more might shed some light into what you are looking to do. You want to use the Clifford LED with the factory keyless entry? To my knowledge the 97 Jimmy did not have a factory alarm (could be wrong here), but even if it did, there would have been no factory alarm valet switch, nor LED.

When the truck was purchased new there was a valet switch and led. this was removed when the Clifford alarm was installed but the shop that installed it is long gone. I was just wondering if anyone knew where wiring for the alarm may be. The dealer who sold me the truck doesn't know but is MORE than willing to look - for a charge. No Thanks. If I am unable to locate these wires, could the Keyless module be removed completely without causing any issues and put the Clifford alarm back in or does the module need to stay in place?

If the truck was equipped with keyless entry from the factory, this is not an alarm. It sounds to me like there was an aftermarket (even if dealer installed) alarm system in your vehicle, then it was upgraded to a Clifford system. The factory keyless stays in place when adding an aftermarket security system, trusting it is truly a factory installed system and not a dealer installed aftermarket system.

I agree- I had a local dealer who would install aftermarket alarms on all his vehicles (new and used) that sat on his lot- his insurance company said that in order to insure him- he either needed a fence or the alarms.  So he decided to go the alarm route- since he could "sell" them in addition to the price of the new car - it was a great deal for the dealer- get the buying public to take care of his security needs.   The general public thinks these are installed at the factory- which is not true...
