I was searching on the idatalink site,and they gave me 4 options.Solo,Multi,Omni and Blade.The only series that gives me door lock interface is the omni series,but i lose the 2way compatibility.Is this something specific i need for my 2way alarm/remote start system or is it just a neat something extra to have?

I would just get the cheapest one, which should be the solo series. Not to mention, i think it's the only series of bypass that comes preloaded with the correct firmware. That is such an easy vehicle to do, that there really isn't a need for a doorlock interface.

A universal bypass box, and a blank aftermarket Ford key, might be cheaper than the module anyway, and simpler to install.
ADS' website could be a little more clear.
Blade: a chip that goes into special Compustar remote starters. I'm not even sure if the compatible remote starters are on the market yet.
Solo: Just does a few brands of cars. You'd buy the Ford module, but if you switch cars in the future, it'll pretty much only work on other Fords.
Multi: Does lots of different cars. If in the future, you trade in your Mercury for a Chevrolet, Toyota, or Honda, you could reprogram the module for the new car.
The Multi series comes without any firmware preloaded. It cannot be used without a special cable and an Internet connection.
Omni: I think it's pretty much the same as a Multi, but comes pre-loaded with popular firmware. Good for on-the-road installers who are working at a customer's (or new-car dealer) location, and can't easily re-program modules on the spot.
2-way compatibility. Has nothing to do with two-way remote starters, it just isn't explained clearly:
--Certain remote starters have a special data communication port. I think Compustar and Autopage or Autostart? Not sure.
--If you have this, you can plug the ADS piece into the remote starter with a special cable, saving you a little bit of install time.
Basically, the cable carries signals from the remote starter, to the module......power, ground, ground-when-running, lock/unlock, trunk release.
--What they mean by "2-way" is the ability for the ADS module to communicate BACK to the remote starter.
For example, if the module for your car has the ability to detect door trigger, tachomeer, brake........the module can "tell" the remote starter the brake is being pressed, right on that special cable.
If either the remote starter or the module is not "2-way compatible," you have to manually connect the corresponding wires from the ADS piece to your remote starer.
While the cable makes the install faster and neater, if you can't use it, it's no big deal......just adds a few more minutes to the install.

I also looked at Fortin.I would like the best bypass module that i can program both keys into and can also do extras like the door triggers and etc.
