I have a 50.5x Clifford alarm but did not use the remote start because I have a stadard and I didn't want my car to accedently take off.
I am unable to use the valet switch to program the alarm and I was told by someone that it is because I don't have a wire for the remote start hooked up.
I am only using the yellow ignnition wire that goes to the satalite module to reset the alarm and other iginition related issues.
Does anyone know of a workarround on this without installing that bulky satalite module because it would be nice to change my functions and setings further without going to the shop and using a bit writer everytime I want to change something?

you need to have the door trigger wired up, or just ground the (-) door trigger wire during programming

RTFM
My (-) door trigger is being used as well as my (+) because one is controlling my door triggers and the other controles my factory active theft system in my 08 mustang.
After going the the dealer and looking at the wireing diagram book with the alarm installer we realized in order to get the active factory installed motion and tilt sensor to work we had to use the other wire because it is on a competely differerent curcular curcuit by it self. One for the door and one for the active system, so they are both being used.
When you say I need to have the door trigger wired up does it matter if it is the negative or positve wire for the door trigger or will I need to temporally disconect from my (-) door trigger wire and ground during programming.
For the door trigger wire to work does the door need to be open or closed.

Shouldn't matter which door trigger you use, as long as it's wired up correctly.
To enter programming, you should need the following:
--Basic installation completed correctly. Power ground, antenna, and working remote.
--Ignition input on the thin yellow wire where the remote start relay harness would plug into the brain.
You can either cut up the harness for the relay pack, or find another plug that'll fit, whichever is easier.
--Valet switch hooked up and working. (The small gray wire should ge a ground when the button is pushed, I believe.)
--Door trigger hooked up, and a door open. (Either the purple needs to see positive, or the green needs to see negative.)
Damn you Chris my internet goes down and you always beat me, go and join mr. Mizenko on the directed forum, 08 Mustang, DEI do a conversion part to run the remote with a manual tranie.
