I am looking for some details on how to add to the existing factory alarm in a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 QC. This truck has the factory alarm and integrated key/remote. I would like to add remote start and additional sensors to the alarm or replace it. DEI sems to have the necessary interface but I am unsure which to use or if they will allow me to add remote start AND additional alarm sensors.

If I have to replace it, info on how to disable the existing system would be helpful.

look up a audiovox pro9055 that gets hooked up to your lock/unlock motor
wires. you hit lock, unlock then lock again will activate the rs. as far as the alarm, you can use any factory keyless entry ugrade such as a audiovox pro-9233. that will allow any acc to be added and it will all work off your existing key.

we use the xk532 at work. works great. it's an '08 so i assume you have at least two keys for the truck. must have two or more keys to program bypasses like the xk532 or pkuch2x. those will control the factory alarm even if you add on an aftermarket alarm with your extra sensors
