Subject: replace buzzer with bong sound

Hello, im looking at fitting a warning tone to my old Volkswagen mk2 golf to notify me when i have left my headlights on when the ignition is switched off.

i have read a thread or two on here detailing how to do it, but i am trying to find some kind of ding, bong or pong (however you want to describe the sound) instead of the standard ugly sounding buzzer.

does anyone know where i can get something that will bong repeatedly. ive looked into a few cars in scrap yards but was unable to find the bonger(lol) the thing im thinking however is that most cars will have the bonger built into the headlight switch and if i was to seperate them form the board they would probably not sound correctly?

does anyone know where i may be able to buy them, or a car i might be able to take them out of (preferably european cars as i am in the UK)

Thanks

I've done several of these by going to Radio shack and buying the piezo beeper (it is a tone) for about $3-- wire one end into fuse block ignition hot fuse- the other into instrument cluster lights fuse- when ignition is off and lights are on - tone sounds and beeps- if ignition or lights are on- silent--  works great and can be done for less than $5---fast and easy

I thought you wanted it to sound like bubbling water.  I don't know why but that is what I thought when I read the title.

Don't change the title.   I thought the buzz came after the bong sound.  I never knew the buzz could be replaced by the bong sound.

wow, lol
now my only input on this thread is to use an alarm voice module and record some bong sounds, then use that for the buzzer replacment

From what it appears, "i am an idiot", "DYohn", "chriswallace187", "chillin420", and I can help you get some bong sounds recorded.

I thought this thread would've been locked a while ago!

If we can't make it a sticky, can we at least make it a Scratch-N-Sniff?
