I have a customer looking to add a backup sensor to his 85 year old fathers car. I have yet to install one and was wondering if anyone had any recomendations as to manufacturer and or any tips.

They pretty much all the same. DEI Crime Stopper are what our shop uses. You just have to make sure when you drill the holes they are not too big or sensor will fall into bumper. My boss bought a set of Rigid hole saws and the one that was supposed to be 22mm was actually not the correct size by some reason. I tried another hole saw with the same measurement made by Lenox and it was perfect fit.
They only need a ground and reverse light 12V+ source. Most have a display that can be mounted in front either on dash or on rear view mirror. The DEI one has an external buzzer that has a switch to select from low, high, or off.
I guess it depends on what you want but like I said, they pretty much all work the same.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

kinda figured. I've been doing a bit of research and came up with few differences. seems theres 2 basic kinds of mounts, bumper and license plate frame. my supplier carries reverse guard and myron & davis. Guess it just comes down to price.

Thanks
