For the most part negative trigger will work on most cars. Positive trigger is primarily ford. Give the type of car and someone should be able to tell which wire you need.

on my alarm I have a wire were it says. Connect to a 30amp. Relay for starter kil (-). where is that suppose to be connected?

If you want to have a starter kill feature which will open the circuit that your starter is on when the alarm is armed, you need to use that wire to trigger a 30amp relay. This feature is not necessary but it is a very standard feature on an alarm.

If you wish to use this feature, that wire you are asking about goes to pin 85 on the relay, Pin 86 goes to an ignition wire, pin 30 goes to the key side of the cut starter wire, and pin 87a goes to the engine side of the starter wire.

Whats Vacuum system?

On my alarm i have a wire it says Warp around any spark plug cable or tachometer. What they mean by that? were does it go on a 94 honda accord ex?

If you are just installing an alarm you should only need one Ignition. Tapping a second ignition is for remote starters.

What do you mean by "Wy do we use the (-) output of the window and not the (+) for window roll up?" Are you asking why we use the negative output of an alarm to trigger a window roll-up module?

TACHOMETER is blue or yel/grn at the ignition coil. This is for remote starters to let the unit know when the car is started. You can also use an uncommon colored injector wire.

Are you referring to Vacuum locks? if so it is a type of door locks that require relays to trigger the door locks. If you are not referring to this, then some remote starters have an alternative input to the tach signal to let the unit know the car is running. If you cannot find a tach signal, then you can use a vacuum switch instead, that you must install inline with the vehicles vacuum hose.

How do you just a dmm? thnx

Do you mean: "How do you use a DMM"? I am just making sure. if so, are you talking about in General? or do you mean only practical purposes for installing remote starters and alarms?

If I was you I would go ahead and install a starter alarm combo in your own car. Doing your own install is the best teacher. I only use a DMM for finding a tach signal and for resistor based anti-theft systems. Otherwise a handy test light will go a long way.

Sorry I meant how to use it when it comes to alarms. what you mean anti theft systems? which ones are does?

a test light in todays cars?!?   I know its unlikely that you'd fry a computer or pop an airbag, but why risk it?  That'd be a mighty costly mistake.

Does every car have the relay for starter kill or you have to buy it? and how does it work? in what case does it kill the start?

Whats the best place to connect battery constant 12V power. thnx

Does every car have the relay for starter kill or you have to buy it? Most alarms come with the relay for starter kill.

and how does it work? Someone correct me if I'm wrong...When the car is "armed", the relay will prevent the car from being started. If the key is inserted and turned, the alarm will sound. When the car is disarmed, however, then the relay allows the car to be started. I'm sure you can get a better explanation that that, though.

Whats the best place to connect battery constant 12V power? I like to grab 12v power from the ignition switch under the dash. If you take off the driver's "knee" panel, you'll probably see a lot of black tape and loom. That's what's usually covering the wires from the ignition switch. In there, there's wires for 12v constant, 12v switched, and other stuff. I like to follow that wire down a bit, and then connect to it there.

If it's something big, though, like an amplifier, I grab the 12v directly from the battery under the hood by going through the firewall.

I usually use the tach setting. I believe the "smart sense" is the same thing as "tachless". I've installed remote starters before using the tachless feature, and they never worked as well. As soon as I hooked up the remote starter to the car's tach wire, it started perfect everytime. I think a lot of people will agree that it will start much better if you use the tach.

If you have trouble locating the tach wire, post what car and alarm you have, and we'll help you find it.

There are only two wires at each injector. Every injector shares one common wire color leaving the other wire at each with a unique color. You can grab any one of the unique wire colors.

I would not worry about the vacuum since you will likely never need to use this method.

The alarm has 2 ignition wires which one has to be connected to the pin 86? Both ignition wires have to be used when installing a start alarm? thnx

It sounds like you want to start an installation business by the general line of questioning. If this is right, then you will want to purchase a bunch of relays and relay harnesses. Get some 3 wire prewired harnesses for starter kill relays and then 5 wire harnesses for the rest. You should also learn how relays work so that you can set them up on your own since you will use them often and they are quite simple to use.

how do you connect it to the 12v? yopu cut it than tape it? thnx

A good test light is no more dangerous than a DMM. Its not like I go around probing any wire I come across anyway.

Well, since I paid the frist time for someone to put it in for me, now Im thinking about upgrading the alarm system. why do they say if you use test light you might pop a air bag or something? than whats the safest way? thnx

You would have to be a complete moron to inflate an airbag. If you ground the wrong wire at one of the vehicles computers you could fry the computer, but if you know what you are doing then a good test light is all you need, (except for when dealing with resistors and tach signals), and actually i dont even use a normal DMM for tach anymore since I now have a tool that tells me the RPMs and how many cylinders the signal is representing.

So when installing a starter alarm you have to connect both ignition wires? and if putting a relay starter kill, you connect both ignition wires to pin 86? thnx

No the ignition wire is just the trigger so you only need one, but if you have a 3 wire harness you dont need any ignition wires

Bizzy what car are you doing this on? What alarm do you already have in it? Just the factory alarm? what alrm are you thinking of upgrading to? Tese specific details will save us a lot of time helping you. If we know what you need to do specifically then we can help you ask questions that will help you with your install.

which relays are SPDT relay ? what does spdt stand for? and are these same relays used for starter kill? thnx

Posted By: bizzy818

What they mean by this

if you are installing any type of vibration or glass breakage detector with a remote start you will need to bypass the output of this sensor while the vehicle is running by remote. If the remote start does not have an on board relay for this, connect the output lead of the sensor(s) to terminal #87a of an SPDT relay and connect terminal #30 to the input of the alarm. Connect the "(-) sensor bypass output" of the remote start to terminal #85, and connect terminal #86 to a constant (+) 12 VDC source.

I was told I can connect the glass sensor (-) input to the (-) trigger without doing all this.

If you do not bypass sensors that could be triggered when the vehicle starts, they will trigger your alarm when you remotely start the vehicle. Hence bypassing your sensors (impact/glass/motion) with a relay when remotely starting the vehicle. If you do not wish to bypass these, you will have to adjust the sensitivity of each of your sensors so that they do not cause the alarm to trigger each time you remote start your vehicle and will likely be less sensitive than you would like for normal operation.
