I'm finding it very difficult to get this unit adjusted even close to what it should be, I read to start with the outer zone first, then do the inner last..I have tried several times, on a few different days and I think what my problem is the fact that I'm not sure if counter-clockwise or clockwise is the lowest setting when your looking at the adjusments in the lower right corner.Thanks for any help

Always adjust the inner/outer preimeter the same way you can only got a liitle less or more. Most of the time it's fine. Sometimes when the interior is too much I will turn it down a tad. Counter clockwise is less sensitive.

Okay, first off thanks for your reply, perhaps it would be best to turn both settings all the way counter clockwise and then start with just the outer zone setting, the problem I have had is to many times it has set off the alarm far away from the windows, and when I turn it down I must go to far as it then doesn't go off at all, even reaching into the vehicle.

Turn both dials counter clockwise and start with your interior zone first,then do your exterior warn away zone.Remember,you have to make very minimal adjustments.They can mean the difference between not enough and too much.If you want you can try a better proximity sensor made by Omega Research,it's the AU-94TM.It's quality is a little better than the 508D.The only thing you would need to do with it is on the plug end opposite of the sensor,switch the blue and green.

[/QUOTE Or you can try have it in the middle on both inner and outer settings. If you have the black wire grounded or using the ground out of the alarm system? I would do is test it using and looking at the leds green and red. Is you car a convertible?

Thanks for the great info, will be working on it more over the weekend, I figure it was probably getting on my neighbors nerves and a small break might be best, also I might add the the brain unit has a sensor port built in, (DEI 24927) remote start, basic alarm, keyless entry with sensor port.I suppose a person could unhook the car horn and use the visual led for adjustment, at least until one gets it set closer, the main thing I want is the interior protected, it is my 1997 Chevy 1500 that I installed this unit in.

Where is the 508d sensor mounted? A good location if you have a problem getting a good center location is mounting the 508d under the headliner. You have tinted windows? If you did not know tint usually have metal and the 508d will not pass through so falsing will not be an issue unless it's really sensitive it will pass through the front.

Thanks 808hi, I actually have it mounted in the overhead console, its actually a place for the remote overhead garage door opener to be stored, if I use the visual aid of the led lights, I could probaly unhook the horn temporarily until adjusted then?

You can do that but you know the npc (nuisance prevention circuit) will activate after 4 times triggering the alarm system.

Again you have helped me figure out why sometimes it would just quit working, not sure what actually re-activates after the npc is triggered but now I know thats most likely why it comes and goes.
