What happened to the avantguard 5.5x? They debuted it like 2 or 3 years ago at CES and still no release. I got the Matrix 3.3x (awesome alarm) but was just wondering if anybody of you knew what happened to the 5.5x. Did it get doodiecanned or something? It looked like a super badass alarm

The official line (DEI UK) was that it would be too expensive, don't forget the UK wholesale price is twice the USA (so what's new; sorry I know I've aired this hobby horse before) BUT they had it passed as a Euro CAT 3 alarm which means there must have been prototypes floating around, I never saw any and yet I was shown Responder LEs and allowed to play with them 3 months ago. The irony is they can't officially sell them here because of the frequency and power. I think politics and the aquisitions of Astrostart and Trilogix had something to do with it. The other joke is my 5.x goodie bag fom a trade show 2 years ago when it was already one year late.!

Yeah i kinda figured the price would be one reason. I would of payed it though. The prices i saw around online were 799.00. So has it been totally cancelled or are they just reworking things on it to make it cheaper or something?
