I just wanted to start off by saying...this forum is great! Loads of information, and everyone seems extremely helpful, even though people seem to ask the same question over and over, which I'm probably going to do right now too. I used to be an installer back in the late 90's but ended up taking a diffrent career path, but still tincker with my own cars from time to time. Here's the issue currently.
Car: 2001 Honda Prelude
Used to have an older compustar in it, I think the model is 2000-AS but i started having issues with the remote, and it started acting a little quircky so I decided to pull that alarm and install a new CM3000. Now the old unit used the -200ma Starter Output to bypass the clutch. This wire was feeding right in, no relay was used. Now my question is with my new alarm install, should I used the same Starter Output, or use the -Status output which comes on one second before ignition on, and continues until one second after ignition off? OR use the 2 + ignition to trigger a relay hooked up for reverse to send a negative? I'm currently using the -250ma ignition wire to run the Factory Transponder bypass and fuel cutoff system.

Do it just like the old unit. Use the status out for your bypass.

You did it right the first time. Black (-) status out for bypass, RED / black (-) starter for clutch
Thanks! I just wanted to make sure since its easier doing it right the first time then trying to rewire things after its all been cleaned and cut to length! I wish i knew about this site when I was installing...if it was even around..
