code alarm srt9000 shock sensor problem

this is my problem..

i have srt 9000 installed, i thought there is not enough impact to trigger alarm..well i was wrong..

i took apart dash and adjusted shock sensor..but wherever the position is set to, it is not picking up anything..
if something is picking up, there has to be red led flashing..

what i had to do was grab shock sensor and shake it to the alram go off..

alarm went off,i disarmed it and saying "shock sensor triggered"..
disarmed and armed again..

now it is giving me feedback every 2 mins..

and i disarmed again, now it keeps saying, "shock sensor triggered"..
i had pull out fuses from the brain and put them back on, now no more "shock sensor triggered" sign..

all i can think is shock sensor is defective..
something is sticking inside or whatever..

or could it be the unit itself??

I could be wrong but you have to turn ignition on for 30 seconds to clear the shock sensor notification. so just rearming it after disarm from shaking it wont clear it, remember you didnt even let it finish going off. depending on which shock sensor you have theres two led's one for warn away and one for full trigger. Also, id check becuase the alarm probably also has some on the fly shock sensor override... like depending on how you arm the vehicle it will listen to the shock sensor a certain way. For example, if you arm the vehicle twice within 5 seconds it disables the warn away...Please check if thats how your model works as i know my ca670 worked that way.

there is only 1 adjustment..

there is no such thing as the fly shock sensor overrider..

and press arm twice in 3 seconds only does arm/double pulse lock

you are right about put key igniton on to erase the shock sensor memory stored in the brain..

but 1 question though..i was holding shock sensor and shaking it but wasn't triggering..
tapping while shaking triggered sensor..
sounds normal??i don't think so..

As for your last post, yes, that part actually is normal.

It detects impacts only, not motion.

On pretty much any aftarmarket alarm, you could climb on the bumper and bounce the whole car up and down all you want, and the alarm won't go off.

But if you give the car a "shock" of some kind, such as punching it (or bumping into it with another car), the alarm will go off.

They do make motion sensors to detect the car being raised by a jack or tow truck, but I've never installed one.

and also keep in mind some systems require a wait period during arming (for things like windows to roll up and suspension to settle) before listening for shock sensor. I think some systems wait up to 30 seconds.


I just did some checking and I was not able to locate the manual for that system but for other code systems they still have the bypass shock sensor feature, and its arming it within 2 seconds 2 x or 3 x or whatever. Check your owners manual, look around page 8. Im pretty sure your system has this feature to, its not called on the fly I was just trying to simplify it so you would understand what I meant.

hmmm it is really weird..
ca170 that comes with dual stage shock sensor detects motion as well..
installed 1 on jeep and it actually set the alarm off while i was on the bumper and bounce..

i don't know why srt 9000 give a normal shock sensor


i know about bypassing shock sensor but that is not going to bypass warn-away only..

srt9000 is simple to use, in transmitter, there is menu that i can do everything..
"arm & bypass the zone 4" is for shock sensor..


i am going to take a dash apart and play with shock sensor again..but i pretty sure shock sensor is defective..

it will bypass warn away ONLY, check the manual on it, theres i think 3 ways to bypass the shock.
