Hi there have kind of a silly question I'm sure, but would appreciate any answers. I blew a 15 amp fuse today for my door locks and lighter, when I went to replace it I saw a 15 amp fuse with alarm beside it. I don't have a clue what type of alarm this is for. I have only had the car since last November. Can anyone help me out.. thanks janet

That's a pretty good question, honestly. I don't remember a Grand Am of that vintage having a factory alarm - however if it's in the fusebox and marked "alarm" there really isn't any other explanation for what it would be.
To verify that it has an alarm:
1. Roll the driver's window down.
2. Turn the key off and take it out of the ignition.
3. Get out, and with the driver's door open, press the power lock switch to lock the doors.
4. Shut the door and wait 2 minutes or more.
5. Reach in and unlock the door and open it. If you have an alarm it should start going off at this time. Turn the ignition key on, and that should disarm it(if the ignition key doesn't, turn the key in the driver's door key cylinder).
