On my 97 lincoln mark viii. I know its factory alarm/pats but how good is it at preventing car theft? Is it easy to disable? Only reason i'm asking is cuase i am contemplating installing a kill switch and dont have enough cash right know for an alarm.

Amateur thieves will pass your car by in all likelihood. They've got easier targets and really don't care about your car in particular.

A professional thief with a decent scan tool should have it gone in under a minute...less time if he's got a tow truck.
