First, I am not a professional, so I apologize in advance... I just installed a new Scytek Astra 7T7 in my 02 Jeep wrangler the other day. Since yesterday, the parking lights will not go off. If I disconnect the lead from the main unit, they go off. If I cut power to the unit they are off until I arm it, then they just stay on. I have read that on here that the on-board relay for the parking lights is probably fried or dirty from carbon build-up (unlikely since it is new). If the former is the case, how can I fix it? Can a 2nd relay wired in between the unit and the parking light wire fix the issue, and if so, how would I do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

What does it say in the manual in regards to the parking light output? Some will stay on for a set amount of time..... is this maybe the case? Where did you get you parking light's from (on the jeep)? -------------

Parking Light Output (+/-) relay. Connect the white wire to the circuit that shows +12v or ground only when the parking lights are on andf set the internal parking light relay jumper to the proper polarity. (It was set default at positive, so I left it alone) For parking light circuits that exceed 10 amps, a relay is required. For vehicle's with independent left and right parking light circuits, diodes must be installed to keep the circuits seperate. NOTE: Do not connect the white wire to the vehicle's headlight circuit. No, it's not the 30 second thing. They stay on indefinately. There was a Viper 300ESP installed previously and it was spliced into the BLACK / YELLOW wire by the ignition going to the light switch on the steering column, and I used the previous connection. It was working perfectly then it waslike I hit a bump and poof.... Thank you for the help and reply!!!

It would seem that something must be wrong inside the new alarm, but, test as follows:
1. Disconnect the alarm's parking light wire from the car.
2. Using your test light or meter, verify that the alarm's parking light wire actually is putting out positive power when it isn't supposed to. (I'm sure it is, from what you say, but always best to test.)
3. If your test does show that the output isn't working right, try switching that jumper to negative output.
4. Then, again using your meter or test light, test to see how well/badly the Scytek's output behaves when it's set for a negative output.
5. If it still doesn't work correctly as a negative output, there's not much you can do, besides replacing the alarm or living without the parking light feature.
However, if the negative output works correctly, you could just wire up a relay to invert that to a positive output, and then use that to power up the car's parking lights.
