Hello i have a big problem i had my new viper 5900 car alrm and remote start installed in my 2000 GMC Sierra 4.8 liter and everything works but i have a problem with the remote start. when i press the remote start button the truck will try to start but it wont its like the module is not letting the starter run long enough to start the truck. i was thinking it could be the tach wire do you have any suggestions on where the tach wire should go in my truck or if there is another problem besides the tach wire ??????

Tach, or bypass. Where did you get your tach signal from, and what type of bypass are you using?

If the starter "coughs" you might need to get the crank time increased. Try it with a warmed up engine, if it starts and runs OK for more than 15 secs, you have a crank time issue, take it back and ask the installers to increase the crank time.

I connected my tach wire to one of my fuel injector wires and im using a dei555L bypass and someone else told me that i can hook the tach wire up to my ignition coil. but yesterday i programed my remote start to turn off the tach wire and start off of voltage and it works just fine now but its not good to keep it like that so i really need to find this tach wire. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On that vehicle you should be able to use a coil or an injector wire - if no one's told you already it has to be an uncommon wire at the injector or coil (meaning its color is not found on any of the wires at the next injector/coil).

Once you've got the tach connected - all you have to do is start the truck and within 5 seconds press and hold the valet switch. If the LED comes on solid you're golden.
