Also BMW coupes Bristols Vauxhall /Opels etc etc Its deliberate because the car body is well sealed and this stops the window glass breaking. What is this relevant to ?  If you hold the lock wire it will close the window any way.

The windows are controlled by the BCM, which sends a "roll window up" signal to the respective door module at the time it sees the door close. This signal obviously only lasts for a small fraction of a second.

If you're looking to replicate that function you'd need to design a similar solid state circuit - also interface a relay with the window motor lead.

Most of those systems use encoder wheels so that the drop is the exact same amount every time.  My G35 drops the windows 3 mm or something like that as soon as the door pin hits ground and keeps the windows down until the door is closed.

They say that if you disconnect the battery on these cars to make sure the window is down because if you open the door with the window all the way up and then slam it shut it can break the window.
