Subject: Pit Stop Feature messed up

I have a 94 Shadow and a CG 850i3. I recently tried out the pit stop feature that allows the ignition to be turned off with the car still running. When I removed the key after engaging the system, the started began to crank again. Any ideas on why this happened?

do you have an anti-grind relay or starter kill relay installed?

Did it just start or was this the first time you tried the pitstop?
Does remote start work normally?

I have a starter kill relay installed. The remote start works normally. When I tried this however, something was malfunctioning w/ it and it would kill after 2 seconds of being started. That has gone away now but I've been a bit weary to try the pit stop again untill I found out it something was wrong

try unplugging the starter kill relay from its harness and then test it. The car wont start by key then,. but it will remote start. This is just a test. If the problem goes away then your relay harness may be bad. Is it a 3 wire or 5 wire harness and if it is 5 wires, did you use a diode?

Not sure..... all I know is that I used the supplied, pre-wired relay that came with the alarm

Have you tried unplugging the relay from the harness, then remote starting it and then put the key in hit the brake and then try to enter pit stop mode?
Or you could start the car with the key then pull the relay and try it.
If this solves the problem then you need a diode between pin 85 and 86 on that harness.

Is it installed tachless? I know that with the Audiovox units I install, pit-stop doesn't work if you go tachless.
