Hi,

Working on the above vehicle and the alarm that looks like factory(remote) keeps going off. It keeps activating by itself, customer coming back tomorrow to turn off.  What is the easiest way? had a chance to look under the dash but did not see anything that looks aftermarket but I believe that on older Honda it was a dealer option not an actual factory alarm? right?

Thanks,

Jorge.

All info I have says NOTHING about "factory security."  There must be something under the dash.

Does it have a siren? Or simply honk the horn?

That is what gets me no siren, parking lights and horn going off, the remote is honda all the way around. It just keep activating itself as soon as you clse the doors. Passive option on.

Look in the drivers kick panel. I think that's where the factory alarm harness and module will be. I've run across a couple of civics with the same thing, with no way to disarm. I just cut the main power to the module rather than removing it. Also, I think most Honda vehicles around this time, as well as a lot of the late models had the pre-existing plugs in the vehicle, with the option of adding the alarm.

Does it have a l.e.d? there are alarms that add right to your keyless entry as an upgrade to the factory secutiy or to just add an alarm to the factory remotes and some have a horn output as well as a siren output.
