ive got a 97 vw golf trek, and it decided to goto h*ll today...

basically, i go out to put something in it, and the power locks dont work, alarm didnt disarm, and the interior lights/luggage lights/cig lighter fuse popped

i cannot start the car because i cant disarm the alarm, the power locks dont respond at all, there arent any blown fuses

i can however turn the alarm off if its going off, but i cannot disarm it completely, the dam thing re-arms itself everytime, and my power locks dont work at all anymore

we think it may be a relay, but no idea

otherwise its off to the shop with this thing, and im selling this piece of doodie this summer

its a car thats been notorious for having problems, and ive already had my share

You wil have to fully turn off the alarm. Is it a factory alarm, if so turn key in driver's dor until LED next to lock button goes out, then RECHECK your fuses.

thats the problem though, i cannot turn off the alarm, doesnt matter what i do, only way to turn it off is disconnecting the battery

i can only stop the horn from going off, otherwise the alarm instantly re-arms itself, i turn the key to disarm, it disarms, then it beeps from arming itself

its the craptacular factory alarm

ive looked up all the relays, and theres only 2 i cannot identify,(161 on top)1h0 906 383, and (110 on top) 191 941 595

those 2 relays i cant identify, so im not sure if its a relay, the others all appear fine

there is 1 wire in the back, orange and red, it ran in the hatch, it rusted out, and is now black, as in matching my exterior car color black, not the bronzish it should be

i have a feeling it fried the whole wire

solved the problem, i had a leak in my tailight, the pump control module sat right below that leak, the circuit board got destroyed... so it was sending the alarm/locks haywire
