I have a 1997 Eagle Talon TSI AWD Turbo with a pre-installed Clifford Arrow II. Until the other day, everything worked well. Unfortunately, my battery died and now the unit is behaving differently. I figured out how to disable the auto-arming but I don't know how to disable the door locks from being engaged whenever the engine is started (and disengaged when I stop the engine). I'm hoping someone familiar with one of these units could tell me how many toggles on my Valet switch are needed. The owner's manuals doesn't list that function. I've had the car for many years and it never activated the door locks on ignition before.

Try turning on the ignition. Flick the valet switch "ON then OFF" 5 times. If the siren chirps once, the feature should be turned off. If it chirps twice it is now ON. Turn the ignition OFF to finish. Repeating the same sequence justs changes it to the other state. Auto arming is 4 flicks of the valet switch. 1 chirp = OFF, 2 chirps is ON.

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately this does not fix the problem I'm having (I did try it just in case I had misread the function). The 5 toggle option enables or disables AutoArm & Lock (whereby the vehicle Auto-Engages the alarm and locks the doors 30 seconds after leaving the car). The problem I'm having has to do with the power locks being triggered on ignition. For all I know, this was standard behavior that the original installer somehow disabled. Unfortunately, I don't have the installer guide, only the owner's guide which I downloaded from clifford.com.

https://www.guardianalarms.net/home_security_manuals/Clifford-Electronics/arrow2_wiring.pdf I am not seeing that option. Are you sure it's not a progammable function of the car itself? Don't get me wrong, I know Clifford loves their autolock and auto-unlock functions, I am just not seeing it with this model.

Thank you for the post and the link to the installer's guide. I can see a few additional options in there but I doubt they apply in my case. The problem I'm having could be with my car. Because the Autoarm became enabled, I assumed it was the alarm that triggered the 'new' functionality in the locks as well. Since I didn't have the installer's guide I thought it might be a hidden function. Right now I'm debating visiting my dealer to see if they can sort out this odd behavior.
