I am installing an Omega RS4LX remote start in a 05 F150 auto.  I am using the IM04 bypass.  After three months of leaving it along because I got so frustrated with the bypass, I am back at it.  I have installed three of the RS4LX's before so I know they are good units.  It appears that I finally have the IM04 programmed.  But.  When I start the truck via remote it shuts back off in 10-12 seconds.  Every time.  I can't figure out why it is shutting off.  I also can't figure out if it is the bypass or the remote starter itself cutting it off.  The RS4LX does not give any codes via the LED flashing.  What could it be?  Even when I didn't have the IM04 programmed correctly it would do the same thing.  I was able to start the truck via remote if I held the key up to the ignintion.  But it would go off after 10 seconds.  I don't need to hold the  key there anymore but it still turns itself off.  Any thoughts?  Please help me.  I am getting tired of this and don't know what else to do.  Thanks.
Chris

Check to see if the theft light is flashing rapidly when you remote start. If not it is probably a bad ground. If the ground is poor then as soon as the unit kicks on the accessory output it shuts off. That had happened to me installing a remote start into a Ford Explorer when I was replacing a unit installed by someone else. I tried to use the same ground and it wasn't solid.

If it is the bypass check to make sure the rx and tx are correctly hooked up to the right wires.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

Thanks for the advice.  I checked the ground and it's good.  I am now getting a code from the led.  Five flashes.  Which means "transmition selector was removed from park."  I can't figure as to why that would be.  Any thoughts?  I am pretty sure, although not 100%, that the bypass is now hooked up correctly to the rx an tx wires.  Seems to me it wouldn't start at all if they were not right.

Try disconnecting the brake wire from where you have it hooked to and test it again.

I supose.  But if it was something to do with the brake wire it would come up as such in the LED display.  I'll try it.

This is driving me nuts.  Someone please help me.  Now the bypass is dead.  I can't get it to do anything.  I can still remote start if the key is in or next to the ignition.  But it still cuts off after 10 seconds.  Same 5 flash LED code.

Seems like there is not alot of support out there for these RS-4LX starters.  Thanks anyway for the help.  I talked with an Omega tech and he said just open up the RS module and move the little switch inside.  Did that and it worked great.  Not sure what that switch does but it did the trick.
