Hey there.

I have a Python 871XP on a '05 Ford F150.  A while back the remote start stopped working...I would press the "*" button on the remote, the truck lights would flash but nothing.  I was meaning to take it back to Circuit City and have the installers take a look at it, but never got around to it.

Well, recently, my 2 year old nephew was playing with my car keys.  While he was playing them I heard the remote make the "beee-boop" sound you hear when you do the remote start.  Then all of a sudden I heard my truck start up outside!!  Some how or another, I think him mashing the buttons in a some kind of order may have caused the remote start to function.  It worked for about a month then all of a sudden it's stopped again. xx(

Any idea what is causing this?  Is it something on the remote causing this or is the remote start really just messed up and should be checked out?  I'm not an installer but I am a bit of a DIYer.  Any suggestions?

give the keys to your nephew.... naw i would take it back to circuit city and have them look at it. Sounds like it could either be the remote, the antenna, or the user. I work for them and if I usually saw something that was tampered with, i wouldnt even look at it.
