ok so my friend doesnt trust anyone but me to work on his truck and he wanted me to do an alarm install on his tacoma. unfortunatly ive never done an alarm let alone a remote start one. so ive got just about all the connections down except a few that i kind of need some explaining of. if you guys could help me that would be awesome!!!!

its a 2004 Tacoma 4cyl auto

first of all what wire do i hook up for the neutral safety switch? i know its electronic but and i can get to the box and see it i just dont know which wire to hook to.

orange wire([-] 500mA armed output). could you explain this?
white([+]/[-] selectable light flash output) this goes to the parking light (+) doesnt it?
WHITE/ blue([-]remote start activation input) where does this go and what does it do?
BLACK/ white([-]200mA domelight supervision output)
blue([-]multiplexed input, zone 4) is this just another zone?

all the descriptions on these wires were pretty vague. thats the only reason why im asking. i know i sound like an idiot asking these questions and you probably think i shouldnt be installing the alarm but like i said i didnt want to do it but he wanted me to. so any help without calling me an idiot would be awesome! thanks guys/gals

DEI Manuals are written for installers, they are not DIY friendly. Hopefully this helps:

Orange Wire = This wire goes to ground when the security system is armed, normally used for a starter kill circuit but since your system has the heavy green and purple wires for starter kill it is not a mandatory connection.

White = This wire provides a positive or negative output to flash the parking lights. There is a jumper on the side of the brain that determines the polarity of this output. If you are using the positive setting (default) it will supply up to 10amps of output. If you are using the negative setting you will need a relay for anything that requires greater than 250ma.

WHITE/ Blue = This wire will activate the remote start sequence if it sees the proper number of pulses to ground. This is if you wanted to activate the remote start from another source. It is not a mandatory connection.

BLACK/ White = This wire provides a ground for 30 seconds after disarming/unlocking the system. It would be used to turn on the interior light of the vehicle when unlocking. It only has enough output to trigger a relay. This is not a mandatory connection but it is nice to have.

Blue = This wire will sound the warn away if it sees a ground for less than .8 seconds and trigger the full alarm if the ground is provided for longer than .8 seconds. This is normally a trunk trigger input. Again not a mandatory connection in your application.

so basically if i didnt hook up any of these connections mentioned it wouldnt be a problem?

basically it sounds like im done with the arm install if i dont hook up these wires no?

i dont think he wants any of the flashing lights cause hes affraid that someone might jack his remote and try to find his car that way you know?
