Ok, long story short, I work in a warehouse, took my keys and remote into the freezer with me, and the screen cracked on my remote. Ever since then, my alarm doesn't work, remote start doesn't work and turbo timer is shut down.

The remote seems to be functional, if I put in a new battery I get the start up jingle, but nothing happens if I try anything with it.

So I assume the problem is in the set up itself and not the remote.

I don't know what information you'll need, so request it and ill Post it. Thanks for any help.

This is probably going to be hard to troubleshoot. This is kinda like saying i dropped my cellphone in the toilet and now my car won't start. The first thing I would do is take the broken remote out of the equation. Take the battery out of it. Then see if it will do anything. I say this, cus it might be transmitting a signal constantly that is confusing the brain.

By using logic you could do this: before your remote cracked, everything was fine, after your remote cracked nothing worked. Looking at it this way I would say you need to replace your remote. Now if there is something else that happened to your car at the exact same time that you’re remote broke, then you could maybe point at the unit and say it could be the problem but I assume that the cars status didn't change.

Just having the start up jingle does not mean that everything is functional, I had a 2wss remote that looked fine but for some reason it wouldn’t transmit at all. That is probably what is wrong with your remote, it cannot transmit. I would be more then willing to bet that replacing the remote will solve your problem

Wow, I guess I didn’t read that fully, sorry.

Does your led still light up? Maybe somehow you put the car into valet mode? Does the remote respond to button pushes like it’s trying to transmit but cannot? If it still beeps and seams like it wants to work, I would try reprogramming the remote to the brain. And if that doesn’t work I would get a new remote and go from there.

My car got broken into right around the same time as the remote screen trouble, they stole my edfc out of my dash but left my 1,000 dollar head unit...

I didn't know if perhaps some wires were cut or what.

But my remote does not respond to key presses so ill try to locate a replacement. I talked to a compustar dealer some time ago though and they said my model had been discontinued, and would be tough. But I'd think any remote programmable to my brain would function correctly?

Ill try calling compustar again I guess. I came here hoping maybe something was wrong on the car end.

Thanks fellas.

Well if they messed with your car then it may very well be something with the wiring, unfortunately with all the things kind of happening at once it will be hard to tell you what is most likely the problem. If you are not familiar with remstarts or alarms and don’t know what to look for, I would suggest bringing it somewhere and seeing if they would do an inspection on it. Maybe pay for an hour or 2 of labor to have them look under your dash and see if things are still connected or if they cut anything when they took your stuff.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to tell you that "blank" is the problem because of all of the variables.

Electronic damping force controller, computer that controlled my suspension. I could change it on the fly.
