on my car, there are 2 clutch bypass switches. one on top and one on the bottom. i have an upgraded clutch master cylinder so the bottom switch is always closed (bypassed). The top switch still needs to be depressed all the way in order to bypass.

Here's my problem. There are 2 wires at the top switch. I basically short these 2 wires to bypass that switch. I tap both of them to a relay: 87 and 30. I then give constant 12vdc to 85 and use 86 as a negative trigger via one of the 200mA output while remote starting wire. However, the car does not start. I tested by depressing the clutch and pressing the remote start button and it starts (confirms OEM clutch bypass switch is good).

I tested to see if something is wrong with the relay by swapping out for a known good relay and the problem still persist. I then grounded 86 to chassis, heard the clicking of the relay, and tested for continuity between 87 and 30. They show continuity, but car still does not start.

I am doodie out of ideas. Could there be a break in the wires? I tried to check if my triggering wire shows negative upon remote starting, but i think 200mA is too little to show up on a DMM. I can hear the relay click tho.

What is installed? (remote starter)

Have you read the forum rules about such types of questions?

it's a viper 5701 LE Responder alarm with remote start.

Yes I read the rules. What's wrong with the post? I tried to be as descriptive as possible. I also think i posted in the correct forum.

Its the right forum. He was just making sure you are using a manual transmission safe unit on your car. If you weren't the post would get locked.

What output are you using to trigger the relay?

i am using AUX 2 to trigger the relay. I had it programmed for timer 30 sec and linked it to "on with remote start only".

I am also using the same AUX 2 to bypass my fuel cut via another relay. I hear the fuel pump prime, but it doesn't crank.

this output is a 200mA output. I read that bosch relays are 160mA each when coil is energized so do you think it might be too little power to power both relays?
