Hi,

all those that helped on the last problem I just wanted to say thankyou.

I recently bought one of those after market LED Scanners, You know the ones that come in different colors you can mount on your dash or wherever.

Well my question is how do I rig this to work with the (Prestige-785 autostart/alarm) in a 01 Ford Exp. XLT.

The LED has three wires red(pwr), Blk(grd), and yellow(u know), lol

I think yellow is just ground out when armed from the alarm.

Okay let me rephrase,

The alarm works fine, so does the scanner

the scanner right now is wired independantly, I want to wire it into the alarm so when I hit the transmitter it will work just like the LED that comes factory with the Alarm.

The Instructions which I know longer have that came with the Gothic scanner says not to hook it up to the LED of the Alarm because the voltage is to low. SO then Where do I hook up the wires to?

where does the yellow wire go to now?

I was saying that you need to hook the yellow wire to the ground out when armed output from the alarm, and if you need to use a relay to have enough vurrent to run it, then thats what you gotta do.

You have to keep it wired independently. The alarm's regular LED wiring only puts out something like 2 volts; it won't work to trigger the scanner piece, and the alarm might be damaged if you try.

If you hook the yellow straight to the car's ignition wire, the scanner will operate anytime you turn the car off, regardless of whether or not the alarm is set-----as the car's ignition wire will look like a ground when the car is off.

If you attach a diode to the alarm's orange wire (the diode pack that comes free with your alarm is suitable), then the scanner will only operate when your alarm is armed.
