Here is the story and I know some of you guru's will know how to fix it....I hope.
I recently had a car stero store install a aftermarket stereo and speakers in a brand new 2008 Chevy Silverado Truck.
When I go to pick up the truck the dome light will not come on when the door is opened. So I look around and discover the CTSY fuse is blown and I replaced it. The dome light did come on and I thought I had the problem fixed, but when I kit the lock button on the key fob it blows instantly. If you lock the doors with the switch on the door, it does not blow the fuse only blows when using the key fob. I unhooked everything the the stereo installers did and it still blows the fuse when I hit lock on the key fob. The only other place I need to check is the door speakers, maybe they nicked a wire or something? Do you guys have any ideas.

first thing i would've done is took it back to the shop and have them fix it...
if you already removed everything they did as far as the stereo goes and it still does it, then i'm pretty certain it'll have something to do with the speakers! something is grounding that wire out and causing it to blow the fuse. What probably happened is when they screwed the speakers in the door, they caught some wires behind the metal they were screwing into! most (all) aftermarket speakers going into chevy p/u's need to be screwed in and i could see that as being something that is possibly causing the problem!
Check the speakers and remove the screws that are holding them in place and see if that fuse keeps blowing!!

Thanks for the input! I spent two hours on Sunday up at the car stereo shop trying to trouble shoot the problem. Dindn't find the problem but I eliminated a lot of options so I guess it was productive. I'm pulling the speakers tonight so hopefully I'll find somrthing.
