good source of power?

Is the convenience center thats located on the firewall under the left side of the dash a good place to source for power as long as i fuse anything coming off of it?

That depends on how much current you are going to be pulling through whatever you are adding on. Just a few amps, sure more than a few amps, go to the battery. Yes wherever you connect it, put a fuse on it.
