Notes:
NOTE: This vehicle is equipped with the pass-key III immobilizer. Use DEI part number 555G or 555U to bypass during remote start mode. Use the lt. green (-) key sense wire at the steering column to interrupt the blue wire on the 555U so that when the key is inserted to do take over the vehicle does not see two transponders at the same time. Refer to directfax document #1079 for wiring information.  *1 To avoid the domelight delay use tan for the drivers door, blue for the passenger door and the liftgate, and orange for the sliding doors. All wires are negative trigger, located at the BCM and all need to be diode isolated from each other.    *2 This wire is only activated when the wipers are in the high/fast position. There is not a wire for the low setting.  *3 The door lock wires will only meter when turning the key in either door key cylinder. Also have to program the door lock pulse duration for 3.5 seconds to unlock the doors. On vehicles without the factory alarm, use lt. blue for lock and white for unlock. Find the wires in either kick panel.  *4 To disarm the factory alarm without unlocking the doors, use a 0.8 second pulse on the unlock wire.  *5 The ignition coil pack is on the top of the engine on the passenger side. The PCM is in the air cleaner assembly on the front of the engine compartment on the driver side, the wire is in the blue plug in pin 8.  *6 The driver side power sliding door is lt. blue/black (-) in the driver kick panel in the harness going to the rear. The passenger side power sliding door is lt. blue (-) in the passenger kick panel in the harness going to the rear.

It's right on the sheet that they already posted for you

TACHOMETER|PURPLE / white        |   |ign coils or PCM *5        |
*5 The ignition coil pack is on the top of the engine on the passenger side. --OR-- The PCM is in the air cleaner assembly on the front of the engine compartment on the driver side, the wire is in the blue plug in pin 8.

Good Luck

Are the wire colors not matching (the chart) or can you not find the ignition coil, nothing in the air filter box?

Aslo, select "post reply" not "new topic" here instead of starting a new thread. Don't want them to ban you before you've finished the project :)

You need to get your bypass module installed.

I have a 2001 Venture and I did not use a keysense wire to shutoff the bypass module and everything is fine. I used the PKG5 though.

I assume that you did not install ther bypass yet but please correct me if you have.

Just install the bypass without a relay and get back to us.

I assume that you have to turn the key a little so that the car tries to read the if there is a key in the ignition. That is a little wierd though because most vehicles you only need to insert it into the cylinder and not turn it at all.

i installed the key bypass and the remote start will still not work unless the key is turned just a little bit not all the way to run just a litte bit there must be another ignition wire all acc. turn on sounds like fuel pump engages but the shifter letters never light up which is what happens when i turn the key a little bit and the remote start works

Hey Alfred, I went through all the posts and for you get get this starter going you have to answer these questiosn with as much detail as you can:

  • What brand & version number bypass module did you use to bypass the Passkey III System of the Venture ?
  • What wire did you use to power the bypass module from the remote starter ?

You have to have the 555U completely installed witht he GROUND OUT WHEN RUNNING wire hooked up as well as the other wires necessary for the module to work. If you have the 555U partially hooked up and the key not seated properly in the module, then it will not work at all.

If the car does not crank at all it's probably an IGN or a STARTER wire connection error. Please list eh wires that you have from the Audiovox to the vehicle. I will compare what you have according to what you should have.

It sounds like you have an install issue. You may have a bad connection or a blown fuse on the RS. Test all of your vehicles ignition wires and accessory wires and starter wire to make sure they are all getting power at the proper time during a remote start attempt. Basically you need to test each wire by putting a test light on it and then press the start button and watch to see when the wire gets power. Take your time and look everything over.

I just thought about this; I dont remember anyone asking you what happens when you attempt to remote start the van when the key is out of the ignition. Does it do absolutely nothing? I mean the parking lights should come on, the fans should turn on, etc.

I have read your responses to the questions asked and I have to say it would be nice if you could try to respond in complete sentences and try to explain things in as much detail as possible. The more detail we have, the more easily we can help you. I am sure that your peoblem is just something small that you have overlooked.

i checked all the fuses they are all good. the lights flash and it sounds like afuel pump or somthing starts up when you try to remote start the car i have tryed switching ignition 1 and 2 the same thing happens lights flash .this all will happen with the key in  or out  but if i turn the key a little bit foward the car will start. i did solider all connections there are no cold solider joints.iwent threw all the wires each one gets power . ignitio 1 /2  and stater wire power up at start iwent as far as to run a wire off the yellow starter wire at the module to the starter motor it would crank it

thank s for all your help it was a programing problem with the module you must turn off ignition 2during cranking or the car will not start another interesting point is the car will not remote start if you leave the key in the ignition but the the car will run fine after you turn the remote start off with both keys
