I have a 508D installed in my 2006 mustang coupe and it is installed in what seems to be the typical location, between the shift boot and the cup holder.
I have gotten good results from the left and right windows, but if I tilt it slightly I can get more coverage in the front of the vehicle also. Almost to the front bumber.
I have tinted windows on the sides and rear ( non metalic ) I would like to have more coverage twards the rear. The coverage becomes alot less because of the tint but if I move the sensor and lay it on the center of the back seat I get great coverage around the rear of the vehicle (bumber) and through the tint, But I loose my forward wondow and front vehicle coverage due to the sensor being two far back.
Is there a way to add a second sensor in line with the first to have one up front and one in back? Or use a free zone input?
I am also trying to understand how this unit works more to maybe help me understand some better placements as well.
I have also read some about putting the unit in the headliner and using the roof as a metalic reflective plane of some type. This would seem to be quite a hassle on this vehicle, and does this work?
Will this work for the 06 mustang?
Thanks
After reading through the manual more and the 508D install guide, it says that "if you are using the 508D with a dei security system that has a multiplex input, you can connect both the blue and green wires to the multiplex input".
I have the Blue H1 / 7 (-) multiplexed input zone 4 free.
Because I am using zone 1 for shock sensor and zone 2 tied into the shock sensor wireing for 508D #1 could I use the free multiplexed input zone 4 for the second 508D?
If so, from what the directions say I connect the blue and green wires to the multiplex input and the red to 12v constant and black to ground and I should be able to run two dual zone sensors seperatly?
Are there any other multiplexed inputs?
If you add a tilt sensor, is this where you would connect it?
