My dad just bought a new 08 Tacoma access cab and has already had it broken into once, so I offered to let him have a viper 5000 i pulled out of my old car and had laying around. He said he wanted it so I sent it in under warranty to have an issue with a fried hoodpin circuit fixed and just got it back just as new.
Wiring schematic for tacoma: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~99263
Lock Harness:
VIOLET* Unlock #87 Normally Open (Input)
BLUE/BLACK Unlock #30 Common (Output)
BROWN / BLACK Unlock #87a Normally Closed
VIOLET/BLACK* Lock #87 Normally Open (Input)
GREEN/ BLACK Lock #30 Common (Output)
WHITE/ BLACK Lock #87a Normally Closed
BLACK/ WHITE DomeLight Supervision relay Input #87
Issue: I have the violet/black grounded to vehicle, blue/black to vehicles GREEN/ black (unlock) and GREEN/ black to vehicles violet wire (lock). When activating alarm, or deact, the vehicle does not lock or unlock. No other wires were used in the harness.
Testing: I have tested with a dmm to make sure the viper lock relays are working properly and both the blue and green wires ground when activated. I have tested the tacoma wires and found that the green black grounds when turning drivers key cylinder, but the violet does not (yet neither work with alarm).
Also, according to a wiring schematic for the 08 tacoma that i obtained, I have the correct wiring.
Any ideas or issues people can share?
You need to ground BOTH of the pin 87's. You won't use the 87a. You WILL use the 30's These will connect to the truck.
Your truck: lock is purple, unlock is GREEN/ black. both are negative. Unlock is double pulse.

I ran outside real quick (I have the truck pulled apart in my garage) and grounded that wire and now I can hear the relays click within the brain, but still no lock unlock action (already had programmed for double on unlock)
