i got a 01 pontiac grand prix that wont start.i know its a passkey problem.the security light never stops blinking when the key is turned.it cranks and cranks but wont start.i dont really care if the passkey works anymore or not i just wanna start the car.i only paid a few hundred bucks for the car and wanna be able to drive it
purchase an ADS-DL(GM1) and use a relay to activate it during ignition, this bypass requires no programming at all.

85 - ignition 1
86 - negative key sense @ tumbler
87 - ground
30 - to bypass activation wire

What you need to do is fix the PASSKey system - it's the right way to do things and might be even less expensive than a bypass module at retail cost.
First thing, I'd suggest you get a subscription to a good vehicle information service - I've used ALLDATA DIY and think it's pretty good; Mitchell also offers subscriptions for a single vehicle if you've ever dealt with them. Alldata is about $15 per year per vehicle.
Once you've got that, you'll want to read about the operation of the PassKey system on your car - it might be variously referred to as the Vehicle Theft Deterrent or something else. Specifically, you should look for instructions on how to program a new key to the vehicle without an existing working key or a Tech II (GM dealer programming tool).
Also, you should check your key itself for damage to the transponder portion, as well as verifying that it's Passkey3 compatible. If it doesn't say "PK3" on the metal shaft, it's just a regular GM key that was cut to turn the key cylinder and it won't do any good.

i have changed everything to do with the ignition system including the passkey module, key and cylinder, ignition switch/harness 3 times and i know they all worked cause those 3 cars had no problems with security.i tried the relearn thing with the keys and nothing works.i have this car that is totally useless to me cause it wont even start.i just wanna get rid of the passkey somehow and be done with this whole problem
