Im looking for any assistance on an Ignition wire on an 06 Ion. I took the steering column apart and all the wire are really thin gauge wires and I want to wire my dei keyless entry to lock the doors upon starting and unlock upon shutting the igniton off. Thanks in advance

From what you are describing, it sounds like the Saturns have gone the way of the other GM products.  There is no useable Ignition switched wire at the key harness.  You may have to look at the fuse box.  If you can not find a suitable fuse in the box, you can still accomplish this task.  There is a wire in the key harness that goes positive when the key is turned on.  The problem with the wire is, it does not provide enough current to turn on anything.  You can use that wire to trigger a transistor that will give you 2 amps of available current.  This will be more than enough to run your DEI piece.  If you need a diagram for the transistor, let me know.  Radio Shack sells a transistor that works well for this project.

Is this NOT a programming issue?

Any unit I have ever installed was able to be programmed for ignition controlled locks....

According to Audiovox's database there should be a blue wire at the ignition switch harness.  Using a volt meter, check and see if it acts as ignition.  If it does, try using it.
