I had a friend (has installed a few hundred alarms before) install the new Clifford RSX 3.3 in my 2006 Tacoma(manual) yesterday. At first we were going forward with a remote start setup, but ran into issues and started back tracking.
In about 20' of driving the truck begins to apply the brakes lightly and it keeps building pressure. After about 40' they are just about fully on. After a battery reset and a 10min wait it is fine again.
Any suggestions? We completely removed the remote start and its relation to the brakes.

So you have unhooked the brake wire, unhooked the e-brake (I know you used it cause it's a manual....right?) What connection were made at the back of the fuse box. Have you unhooked any of these? -------------

To the best of my knowledge he did not unhook any. I just left him a voicemail and I will go look myself.

The reason I ask is that there MUST be a terrible error in the install. This is an easy truck, and a rare (major) problem.

Yeah, He is a very good installer, but everyone is scratching their heads. He is going to come take a look at it shortly, so hopefully we figure it out.

Trouble shooting now... It is still slowly adding brakes when driving. Everything related to remote install has been uninstalled and all of the fuses are fine .... :(

well... uninstalled the whole alarm and I got my brakes back. In the next few days we will go over it again... sigh :(
