So I recently installed a Python 990, (rem start, keyless, security) and upon completion i noticed that everytime i disarmed the 990 it would set off the factory alarm... ok, so i tagged the 990 unlock to the factory disarm wire(w/ diode) and it fixed the problem....So now brings me to the problem that no one i know can seem to figure out... When i start the car, the doors all lock(standard) so when i go to unlock a door (let a friend in) it trips the factory alarm.. please if anyone has got an idea (besides setting it up to not lock when i start the car) they would be greatly appreciated

have you check to see if your unit 990 has a factory alarm disarm ?

First off, does this only happen when you remote start the vehicle and you unlock and open to get in it as it's remote started? does it happen all the time?

assuming it happens only when remote starting, are you sure you have the correct disarm wire (yellow/blue)? if so, which ignition and accessory wires do you have tagged with your 990?

it sounds to me like you need to tag another ignition/accessory wire or you have a ignition wire/accessory wire misconnected to the corresponding 990 wire.

you can also disable the factory system altogether if you don't need/want it.

The problem is most likely the wire you've used for "lock". My wiring info states the following wire colors for a '99 Rodeo:

lock - Lt.GREEN/ Red
unlock - RED / Blue
factory arm - Violet
factory disarm - Yellow/Blue
All wires would be found in the driver's kick panel in the harness from the driver's door.

If you were to use the Violet "arm" wire for lock, instead of the Lt. GREEN/ Red "lock" wire, then when your doors autolock with ignition, the factory alarm is also armed.

Your factory alarm, like many others, will not disarm automatically when the ignition is turned on, nor will it ignore an "arm" input at that time.

The solution is simple - use the arm and disarm outputs from your Python piece directly on those arm/disarm wires, and use the lock and unlock outputs only for lock/unlock.

i tagged the lightgrn/red for lock not the violet wire and no it's not only when i remote start it... i had a python460hp(w/o remstart) and it did the same thing

does your suv lock the doors with ignition or does the alarm?

are you hitting the unlock button to let your friend in?

might sound redundant, but how do you have the diodes wired to factory wires/alarm unlock wire?
