Unplug the PKG4 connector then connect the pink and the pink/white wires on the PKG4 connector together. The car will start with the key unless that key has been erased from the car's memory.

You lost me. Select option 1 or  option 2 from below:

OPTION 1: From what I understand from your post, you would like to start the car with the key. Is this correct?

Then once the car starts with the key, you can come back and we can troubleshoot the system.

OPTION 2: You trying to do a remote car start installation and are having trouble programming the PKG4?

one more question, where do i hook the brown wire on the pkg4 unit seeing that i am not using a remote start

Looks like your answer is OPTION 1: you just want to start with the key and are not interested in getting your remote starter to work.

Disconnect all the wires of the PKG4.

Now, reconnect the pink wire you cut at the PK3 module in the car. Start car with key. You're done.

The brown wire needs to go to a wire that shows (-) whenever the ignition is ON. Connect a relay as follows:
86 - ignition wire in main ignition harness. Should be pink. Not to be confused with the pink wire in the PK3 harness
85 and 87 - ground
30 - brown wire of PKG4

Making a new post every couple days about the same thing gets really annoying, and is against forum rules. You end up having to explain everything that was in your original post, and if you don't people get easily confused because they don't know all the background information.

The PKG4 does not require programming, so hopefully it will work and the car will be able to start. We have no idea if it will work though. You could have other problems preventing the car from starting, like a messed up BCM.

Let's start over.

You said:

I understand that you are not interested in getting your remote starter to work, but you just want to start your car.

If that's the case, remove the PKG4. Follow the wires of the PKG4 to where they're connected in the car. Disconnect all the wires of the PKG4 from the car.

You will probably notice that a small pink wire was cut in the car which they connected to the wiring of the PKG4. You need to re-connect this small pink wire which was cut.

The car will now start with the key.

Here's the wiring diagram:

i guess i didnt make it exactly clear.i have nothing in my car.no remote start,no pkg4,nothing.my problem is my car has the passkey3 and it is seriously screwed up.my car wont even start.i bought it for a few hundred dollars and am not even able to drive it..i wanna use the pkg4 if i can to bypass the passkey unit in the car so i can start the car.some people said it might be possible to do that to trick the car into thinking the passkey is disabled.

posted_image NOW I UNDERSTAND!

Try this:

Put a battery charger on the vehicle's battery then procede with the following.

1) If the key is on a key chain, remove it so that it's by itself in the ignition barrel. Turn key to IGN position.

2) Attempt to start, if it fails, leave ign key ON - do not turn key OFF.

3) Wait 10 minutes til security light turns off in instrument panel.

4) Turn key OFF. Wait 5 seconds.

5) Repeat steps 2 to 4 up to three times.

6) When you have done step 4 at the third attempt, start the car.

That key should start the car.

In the future, if you have a SpeedPass or other transponder key on your keychain, remove them. Transponder keys should be alone or with non-transponder keys.

If you still have problems in the future, then follow JWorms suggestion:

that dosent work.the light never ever stops blinking.i have changed everything to do with the ignition system(ignition switch/harness,3 different passkey modules, tumbler, key)nothing has helped.thats why i wanna hook up the pkg4 to trick the car into thinking the passkey is off.some people said this is possible and worth a shot

Yup. Try what JWorm suggested using the PKG4.

if you changed passkey modual and key the car won't start, they need to reprogrammed in, start with all orginal stuff.

Did you check the 10 amp fuse that powers the system?

You know, that's not a bad idea at all to check the fuses. In fact there are two 10 amp fuses related to the Passkey. Both 10 amps. One is labeled PASSKEY (B+ with key off) and the other is ECM (powered with ignition, key on).

i checked all fuses.those are all fine too.i will put back the original passkey module and key cylinder back in and then hook up the pkg4 and hope it works

ok.little update.i got the pkg4 .connected everything as i should have including the relay like jworm said, and no go.car still wont start and security light still on.i dont even hear the relay click.is it supposed to click?what would happen if i unplugged the passkey harness?

Posted By: JWorm
Date Posted: July 25, 2008 at 6:35 PM
The relay will definately click when you turn the key ON, and click again when you turn it OFF. Did you test the ignition wire that you connected to 86?

the relay dont click at all.i even put the wire from 86 straight to batt and still no click.all i read to ground on every single pin is continuity.

if the relay dosn't click when you put it to battery power

the other side of the coil isn't seeing ground

or you have a bad relay

Let's ignore the relay temporarily.

If you put the brown (ground when running) wire of the PKG4 to ground then try to start your car. Does it start? If so: CONGRATULATIONS! WOO HOO! posted_image

If it didn't start, then the relay is the least of your problems. posted_image
