I installed a Viper 5900SST in an 06 Ford 500, and after a week the remote took a crap. The company I bought the 5900 from warrantied the remote and I went to program the new one, but it won't learn. I tried to delete all the remotes by pressing the momentary button 12 times, and the LED flashes 12 times, but I take it you need a programmed remote to delete all transmitters? I tried learning the new remote in the channel one or five position as it states, but that doesn't work either. Anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong? Should I unplug the main box from battery then replug and try again? I don't know what to do. Thanks for any input.

are you sure it was the remote that crapped out?   and not the antenna?

Do you have door trigger hooked up properly? can't program a remote without it.

Yea, the remote would not even turn on, even with a new battery. The antenna works fine, I removed it and tried it on another 5900..

Figured out the problem. Vehicle did not have a siren attached so I couldn't hear the one long chirp indicating that the 5900 brain unit is locked out to more programming....good reason for me to get a bitlock! Thanks for everyones help.
