I have an 2004 Dodge Ram and I installed a crimestopper RS-2011 about three years ago recently the headlights have started to flash with the parking lights during arm/disarm and remote start. Is there any way i can resolve this issue? Thanks

Headlights and Parking lights are both controlled by the same wire via multiplex. Negative trigger 249 or 330 ohm to WHITE/ lt. green at headlight switch will trigger parking lights. Check your resistor and make sure it's relay isolated.

or WHITE/ silver positive trigger in the drivers kick area.

yep sounds like your resistor went bad. So, what he said. =)

Can I splice into the parking light wire coming directly from the alarm and add the resistor?

You have to cut the multiplexed parking light wire (the WHITE/ lt.green wire) and wire a relay as follows.... 87 = 249 or 330 ohm resistor wired to ground 87a = the light switch side of the WHITE/ lt.green wire 30 = the BCM side of the WHITE/ lt.green wire 85 should go to the parking light output of the alarm/rs 86 should be wired to +12v or gnd depending on the polarity of the parking light output.

I wired my parking lights following the above diagram parking light output is negative so would 86 go to gnd or +12v

86 will go on 12v

I have yet to understand why this is so. I have done a hundred Chryslers without doing anything more than adding a resistor to the wire and tapping it in and have never had an issue. I know it's supposed to be but for the life of me i don't see why.... ------------- Mike M2

The lights will flash without adding a relay and cutting the pk. lt. wire, BUT you have to get the resistance perfect. I take a 10k ohm variable resistor and hooking it up to the lt wire and gnd. then dial in the resistance until only the parking lights are working. Then just add a resistor to the neg lt output of your alarm and bingo.
