Trying to work on my 2002 escort zx2 but can't get the alarm system disabled so it won't start(I have disabled the siren)

I disconnected the battery to clean it then re-connected  and now when I try to turn the car on the lights just flash and it won't start. I do not have the remote for it any longer so I have been trying every combination of locking the door with the key and locking it  manually then unlocking and turning key to on position but nothing seems to work. It will stop after I turn it on but then when I open the door the lights start flashing again. I don't know if it won't start because of the alarm or because I have installed a new starter. This is a factory installed alarm system.

Please help! and Thank you in advance.

If you no longer have remotes then you need to find the "brain" and disconnect it and re-connect the starter kill.

As Big Dog has stated, the starter wire needs to be reconnected. Find the BLACK/ blue starter wire and solder it back together.

Remove the relay.
