I hqave a 97 Ford Ranger that I am installing door lock actuators on.

I have a Hammer FM 2009 lcd pager/alarm, and I am installing aftermarket door lock actuators.   There are no factory locks.  This alarm module has the power door lock/trunk relays built into the module, but the wiring diagram says to hook up the aftermarket actuators uses external relays.  There is (-) unlock adn (-) lock coming out of the module.  I thought that the aftermarket lock actuators would be hoooked up with a (-) trigger.  I didn't think I needed relays unless I was hooking they up to a (+) trigger.  I could send the wiring diagram if necessary.  Hope somebody out there is smarter than me.  I really didn't want to let the smoke out of the module if you know what I mean.

Yes, you will need to add 2 additional relays to the alarm in order to add the actuators. One realy is used to lock, and the other to unlock. If you go on the Diagram section of this site and go to Door Locks & Window Modules - and then go to Actuators/reverse polarity.. this is the same wiring you will use!
