Can someone please help me out? I have a 1998 Ford Explorer. I recently installed a Valet 552T Keyless entry/Remote start. I have gotten everything to work except the remote start. It works when the key is in the ignition but not when the key is taken out. I had a second key made. I installed the DEI 555F to bypass the PATS but I'm unable to get the 555F to program correctly. I have followed the instructions but still unable to get it to learn.
Here are the trouble shooting steps that I've done.
First made sure the wiring was correct. It was. It had a constant 12 volt and the Neg was working when the Remote Start was energized. I made sure that the neg worked by connecting a tester to the neg wire off the remote system and the other end to a positive wire going to the ignition. Then I activated the remote start and it lit up as soon as it was activated. That tells me that it was working. Also I was able to feel and hear the click on the module.

I followed the directions of Insert Key turn on until THEFT light goes out. Turn off, insert second key and turn on until THEFT lights goes out. Withen 10 seconds put the sensor in the key hole and activate the remote start. It will never learn it though.

Can someone help?

it just taps on to the RX/TX wires... no problems then with the pellett moving or freezing, etc....

I might have to try that.

Ok I've tried putting the pellett all over the transponder ring. Still no joy. Any other ideas? I'm at a lose. I know it's activating because I can feel the module kicking on and off.

Thanks for the help. Chris

sometimes you have to find the "sweet spot" for the pellet... try it with the pellet in different places around the transponder ring.....
