Can it be installed without hooking up the Blue wire (- trigger ouput) and still work as just a battey backup?

I am installing a master battery disconnect in my 65 Mustang with a trunk mounted battery.  If I turn on the alarm and then turn off the master disconnect I don't want the alarm to sound but I do want it to run off the battery backup.  I know I can not turn off the master disconnect first and then turn on the alarm because the battery backup will not be able to flash the parking lights, chirp the siren and lock the doors.

Did that make sense?

Yes you can.  If you don't hook up the blue wire from the 520t to the alarm, then the alarm will think everything is hunky dory.
