Try setting the vipers brain to auto unlock before starting and see what hapens, it sould unlock the doors then start fine then lock it agian.... if this is the case you know that the bypass is not disarming the alarm early enough.

the only other possibility i can think of is maybe the bypass is not disarming the factory alarm at all and the alarm indicator light is going out for another reason...... if my previously mentioned trick works then i would deffinately investigate this possibility as well.

The ignition keys on that Jeep are gray, right?

What are you using to interface with the car's Sentry Key immobilizer key system.

The 455J does the doorlocks, and turns off the factory alarm during remote start.

But you still need something (like a 555C) to emulate the Sentry Key.

I Have The DEI 455TW Interference, Any Suggestions Just Cranks But like it wants to start then it pauses and repeats itself 3 times. Then After I hooked up the Tach I can hear the alarm over cranking. My Key Is Black Not Gray..

Your tach is most likely not programmed properly; or it's also possible that you don't have the correct ignition wire connected. Try reprogramming the tach wire(you'll know it's programmed allright when the LED comes on).

If the tach doesn't program, try moving it to the uncommon wire at any fuel injector - I've had issues with using the ignition coil on Grand Cherokees for my tach source.

Chris Luongo, I don't believe they started Sentry Key on the JGC until '99

Yeah, Chris, you're right. Now I remember that they redesigned them in 1999.

Arthur,

Somewhere in the programming menu is "shutdown diagnostics" or something like that.

Anyway, turn on the remote start, and let it do its thing. Let it try (and fail) three times, and then it'll give up.

After that, go into that menu, and the diagnostics feature should tell you the reason it failed to start.

I also agree with Chris, that if you haven't done so already, program the tach signal to the remote starter. Just like he said, if it programs, you are probably on the right wire.
