Hello,

I recently removed my Code Alarm CA680 from my 05 Ford F150 and reinstalled it in my 06 Ford Explorer.

I have an XK04 bypass module and it says that in order to use it with the new vehicle, it needs to be reset. I'm following the instructions and it tells me to hold the reset button while I plug it into the alarm module, and then when the LED goes out its been reset.

I've followed the reset instructions and then tried to reprogram it using two keys, and then remote starting it. But the program is not taking.

Am I doing something wrong? I have the TX, RX and Ground wires hooked up to the PATS harness. Should I unhook these wires while I try to reset the bypass module? Is there any other way to do a hard reset of this? its driving me nuts, its the last step of the installation!

Thanks!

Recheck your TX and RX wires...I've had them backwards a few times and run in to problems similar to what you're describing.

As Chris said, check your RX/TX... also, verify that it starts with the module disconnected and key in the ign, to verify it is not a R/S or Install/tach issue....

Ok, I checked my wires and I think either the TX or RX wire came loose during the installation. Resecured and it works great- thanks again!
