Subject: engine disconnecting circuit

I have a 1999 DOdge Ram 1500 which I purchased an Alarm/remote start. The wiring instuctions call for a wire to be connected "to the primary power of the HP winding cut off. This is to be part of the engine disconnecting circuit. I am unable to find the engine disconnecting circuit. The vehiclke does not have a factory alarm system or a factory keyless entry. Does anyone know where the engine dosconnect circuit is?

Could the HP winding cut off be a tach ( alternator sence? )

It sounds like your alarm is a cheap internet p.o.s. with chinglish instructions...anyway, what that wire seems to me to be is a ground-when-armed output, designed to control a relay which will interrupt your starter wire at the ignition switch.

Any more info you can give on it?

Does the wire connect directly to the wire you are looking for or are there wires so that you can actually interupt the wire you are looking for.

It seems to me that they are referring to the either the voltage or signal wire of the coil (winding).  If you interupe either the constant voltage or the signal voltage to the coil the engine will disconnect and fall out of the vehicle.

OK, it won't actually fall out of the vehicle, but it will cause the vehicle to not run or if already running shut off.

It probably wl fall out of the vehicle if it's Chinese, sorry facetious mood, what do we have here? Tach, my favourite or starter cut, if starter cut, surely they should mention 2 wires? N.B. Anyone heard from I am an idiot? Poor sod was right5 in Gustave's path this week.

Thanks Kevin. I think you are the right track. It calls for 1 wire to go to the primary power of th HP windong cut off. The other wire is to go to thr lock cylinder ON circuit.
