I have purchased an 05 Cadillac SRX and have a Avital 4000 and XK01 bypass sitting on the shelf that I'd like to install. I have searched but there is not information on these particular models. I am also needing a wiring description for the SRX if anyone could help with that also. Thanks for any help that you could provide.

I believe the Avital 4000 is the same as the Valet 561R, which manual is available for download on this site. Check the manual out and if the wire pinouts are the same you should be allright.

The XK01's manual is available from Bypasskit. Do you have any means of checking the firmware on your module? If not it may be worth your while to consider a different bypass.

Thanks for your reply. It does have the amdl firmware which is perfect for my SRX. I did have the install manual for the 4000 so I'm good on that too.

All I need now is a wiring schematic for the 05 SRX, any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Ok, I found the information for a 04 srx, is this the same? Also, I am half way thru the install and all is going great, except for the ignition wire and the accessory wires, I am unable to determine which ones they are. there are multiple pink and orange wires in column harness. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

boy, there's nothing like talking to yourself. Not sure why no one wants to help, sorry if i wized off someone, but I'm unaware. Well, anyway, I'm going to ask another question for the heck of it. My xko1 has the light staying solid after hooked up. If i reset it, it will stay solid for about 15 seconds, then flash once, then solid again. Is this thing busted or what do you think??

As far as the XK01 I'm not sure how you're resetting it? The instructions on their site don't say how.

For the wires in the harness, it's really simple - test using a digital multimeter. There's no other safe or useful way to do it.

Thanks Chris, I really appreciate your help. I had a rough day yesterday, this is probably one of the toughest installs i've ever done. I have gotten the remote start all hooked up, but cannot test, due to the XK01 being messed up. I have tried to reset the xk01 by holding the button and inserting the harness, as it was explained here.

I'd also like to add a couple things that may help someone in the future on this vehicle. You need to use the brown accessory#2 wire for the HVAC. When testing for the brake wire, make sure the vehicle is in the run position, they need power to come on. The brown parking light wire can be accessed in the ignition harness.posted_image

The instructions for AMDL don't really mention a reset procedure as far as I noticed...I know most of the XK immobilizer bypasses are reset that way. Not absolutely sure with yours. Do you have access to an XKloader to try reflashing the firmware?

I'm pretty sure it's a bad module, I've tried everything and nothing makes any difference. I did get the remote start to work with the key in the ignition, but it starts and dies immediately??hmm. I did not hook up the tach wire yet, so I was going to get into the RS and set it to voltage sense. follow the directions and the rs led won't even light up to get into the programming menu, WTH! any ideas?

things have gotten better, i went in and wired up the tach wire to complete the installation part. tried to program to the tach, and once again, no light on the avital. went through the steps anyway, tested the remote start with the key in, and it works YEEHAW!!! Led must be broke on module. I still do however have the problem with the XK01 staying solid, if anyone has any helpful information on that, I would appreciate it. Even if just to confirm that the unit is bad.

At this point, if you aren't going to reflash the XK01, just get a GMDL-BP.

I liked the XK01 due to the window roll up feature, upon locking the doors. Will the GMDL-BP do that?

forgot to add that I have no way to reflash the xk. I'm going to try to find a shop in the area that might have the capabilities to do so though. Thanks for all your help Chris

Well, I finally got the module replaced, it was definately bad. works ok now, the remote start that is, but the window rollups are not working at all. when i lock the unit, it takes about 2 seconds and then the doors lock, but no action from the windows. It says on the install sheet that it takes 2 pushes of the lock button. i tried that, but it just locks then unlocks. Could this be a problem with the RS not sending 2 pulses or something? any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Yeah that would do it...Avital 4000 has a remote with the same button for lock and unlock, correct?

Assuming that the tailgate unlocks like the other doors, you could use the aux. output on the "lock" input to the XK01 and press that after locking to roll up the windows.

Yes, it does and I was already looking for a different RS that would have seperate lock/unlock. that is an awesome idea and I appreciate your help once again!! Does the +/- output on the trunk key make any differance?

What are you talking about "+/- output on the trunk key"?

sorry about that, i see how that would sound vague. I was assuming that the door locks were a negative signal to lock, but wasn't sure if the aux 2 output would be the same?

Yes, it takes a (-) signal from the remote start.

So, will it be okay to hook both wires up to the XKO1, or do I have to disconnect the lock wire and hook up the 2nd option wire?

Posted By: mthake

Well i did hook up the 2nd option from the RS to the door lock wire on the xko1. when pressing it to get the 2nd lock order, it lowers the drivers mirror??????? I'm about to give up on the window roll up feature, but does anyone have any idea's on this?
