Is it possible to use a remote start remote (Viper 160xvl) to arm/disarm a DEI alarm (possibly Python 660XP or Viper 600)?
The remote start unit has a range of 1 mile and does almost everything (doors lock/unlock, starter kill, led, etc), except it does not have an instant trigger for the panic.

Would like to add a basic DEI alarm, however, I would not want to use the inferior basic remote with the unit.

Is there a way to configure the DEI alarm to disarm/arm with the doors locking(this would allow the 160xvl to remain as the primary unit)? Is their another way?

The alarm ( Python 660XP or Viper 600 ) does not act a a slave unit to another device and can not be controlled by a RS.

Thanks Jeff, I was afraid of that. I will be replacing the the entire unit with a Viper 5301C. The harnesses are almost identical.
