i had a compustar RS system in my 95 integra for about 2 years now and everything went well for a year or so. then out of the blue the 12V wire that powers remote stars melted at the fuse but didnt blow the fuse.
i replaced the wire with 10 gauge runnign straight from the battery and checked all possible wires that could short somwhere, everythign looked good
remote start the car and it melts another fuse holder on the 10ga wire, and again the fuse is not blown i go and check everything one more time and all the wires are taped nothing is touching. no blown fuses in the car fuse box either.
the only other cause left is faulty alarm module and the fact that at the same time that it happened my second acessory relay rusted out and went bad. i replaced it with new one but it didnt change anything.
Bring the CPU back to the place that you got it installed and purchased and they will replace the CPU for you as part of warranty. ALL Compustar CPU's are lifetime warranty if purchased and installed by a Compustar dealer.

its ebay:) lol i did the install. the car has been in a pretty big accident where the frame had ot be pulled.
could that relay damage the unit that bad?
i think i dropped it down to 20 and still wouldnt blow the 12v wires going to the module all have 30a fuses. 2 12ga wires for power both of them were melted when i first pulled it out.
with acc relay beeing damaged my stereo stopped woking during RS i didnt give it much thought since everythign else seemed ok. untill weather got hotter and thats when all started smoking. so i had it RS every day for about 3-4 months in cold weather before i smelled it.
otherwise the alarm works perfect.

I really do feel your pain......BUT. Did you learn anything from your ebay purchase (wich I'm sure you did just to save money) In the
future, don't purchase electronics off of flea-bay.

well mang i did learn that i had to buy an alarm asap since i just paid 380dollars to get the car from the impound cuz it was stolen while moving and switching jobs and i didnt have cash to buy an overpriced alarm from a dealer that would not give me warranty anyway cuz more than half of the shops here a shady like that( i worked in them myself) i did get my hands on a used compustar brain tho just need ot replace it lol. too much work extracting the old brain out of the car :)
double check all of your connections which Im sure you already did. ALSO check the ground it could be rusty maybe think of upgrading that to ten gauge as well. Alot of times people overlook the grounds and dont realize that they are just as important as the power. Also with compustar a bad ground can cause it to do some funny things. let me know if this helps.

Is it the wire or the fuse holder that melts?
We have had some fuses that are not quite up to size specs and don't fit in tight at the connectors. If the contact is not good power will follow, but the fuse will arc resulting in melting the holder. Every time it arcs, it increases resistance resulting in more heat.
