Hi everyone, I just installed a Viper 571XV on my ford F150. After testing the RS, I encounter a problem. Every time I remote start the truck it only stays running for about one minute and then shuts off. Also every time I disconnect the parking lights wire which is white, my whole RS system looses power and wont do anything, its just completely dead, but when I re-connect the wire it works, but once again when I remote start the truck it only stays on for about a minute. Any ideas on why this is happening? I appreciate your help thanks. The following is the diagram I used to installed the RS system once again thank for the help.

What I mean by completely dead, is that there is no power going to the brain of the RS system when I disconnect the white parking lights wire. Thanks for the help

perhaps you have a bad ground for the RS unit. it's trying to ground through the parking lights (which is usually neg. at rest)

did you power the red wire in the same harness as the white park light wire??

no, I poowered the red wire using the +12v yellow and light green at the ignition harness, and I powered the white wire using the +12V brown wire from the parking light switch. The thing is that when I set the jumper to + on the RS brain the relays on my truck just start clicking for no reason, but when I change the jumper to - the RS works fine but, it will only start the truck for one minute and then shuts off. I know the parking loght switch provides +12V and the jumper is currently set to -12V on the RS brain, I think I might need a relay to convert the parking light switch polarity to -12V, but will adding a relay fi the one minute shut off problem I'm having? Thanks for all the help

have you checked that yet? maybe you grounded the dome supervision thinking it was ground. regardless, check it. if the RS is completely dead when you disconnect the parking light wire than it leads me to believe that the RS is trying to ground through the parking light wire which is NEG. at rest. put the jumper back to (+) and leave it. the parking light wire is brown and IS positive (+12V). no relay for neg trigger. the RS already has an on board relay for the positive trigger parking light which is what you want as it's what you're trying to do.

Another-kelly, thanks for all your help I checked my grounding and you were right, my RS was grounding of the parking lights. I went ahead and changed the grounding, and fixed the problem. Now the problem I'm having is that after starting the truck with the RS, the truck will only stay on for about one minute. After checking the diagnostics the RS has, the LED flashes two times which is Over-rev shutdown, any ideas why this is happening? Thank again for all the help guys

1) did you get a tach signal off a fuel injector?
edit - if not, do it

2) try learning the tach at a higher RPM

No, I did not get the tach wire from the fuel injector, I got it from 7 Tach wire: on the 4.2L it is a dk. blue/lt. green at the coil pack on top of the motor. I just tried learning the tach at a higher RPM and still didn't work. Which wire can I use on the fuel injectors. Also, is it possible that this is being caused due to the fact that my truck has a manual transmission?

if you look at the injectors, you will see a two wires at each injector. one will be a common (same color at each injector), and the 2nd will be different for each injector. use on of those odd colored injector wires. DEI products don't like the tach signal from coils on fords.

I just connected the tach wire to the non common injector wire and so far the RS is working fine. I would like to thank you guys for all the help, and special thanks to another-kelly thanks dude.
